Check out a sneak peek of this brand new gear before you can buy it.

Last weekend Team WR braved the wintry weather and traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show, a twice a year showing of all things “outdoor.” We made our way through aisles of down and flannel to get a look at the running gear we’ll be coveting come fall.

From tasty treats to awesome new designs, gear is getting smarter and the lines between running and life continue to blur. We think that’s a good thing!

CLIF Oatmeal Pouches, $3
Take the breakfast stress out of race mornings with ready to eat pouches of yummy oatmeal. Choose between apple cinnamon or banana maple (our fav!) for a satisfying serving of on-the-go energy.
Saucony Speed Demon Cape, $110
A luxuriously soft feel, smooth facing internal fabric that doesn’t “grab” other layers, dropped tail and ribbed sleeves that stay where you put them make this an active lifestyle piece you won’t want to take off.
Suunto Ambit3 Vertical, $469
With vertical gain becoming as important as distance for many athletes, Suunto created a GPS sport watch that accurately tracks distance, pace, heart rate and more in the sports you love. It also has route tracking and keeps track of vertical gain and loss. Not only is this handy information for training, it’s essential for bragging rights!
Brooks Running Anyday Bra, $56
Available for B-D cups with bands from 32-38, this sassy sports bra (check out the plunging neckline!) is engineered for performance, but can be worn “any day.” It also has convertible straps and heat pressed bottom band fabric for support without an underwire.
Nathan Sport Neutron Fire, $35
115 lumens of light is yours at a sweet price point. It runs off two AAA batteries, has red, green and blue slide lights for increased visibility in specific settings (red for true darkness, green for damp or foggy situations and blue for urban settings) and also has a strobe setting.
Altra Stashjack Windbreaker, $130
You have to demo it to believe it, but this handy jacket goes from stashed in a waist pack to over your head and zipped up in an instant. You don’t even have to remove your pack to make it happen—it fits over it!
Kakookies, $2
These taste as yummy as your Mom’s oatmeal cookies (we’re partial to the Cashew Blondie), but without wheat, dairy and eggs, they are kinder to sensitive stomachs—no offense, Mom. At 230 calories each, they are ideal for a grab and go snack.
Headsweats Performance Trucker, $24
A breathable mesh backing takes this fun style to the next level. It has a snap back closure for sizing and a soft, moisture wicking sweatband that goes all the way around.
Buff National Parks Collection, $25
If you need a reason to get a new Buff, their new National Parks Collection should inspire you—it’s the 100th anniversary of the National Parks after all! Pick your favorite from: Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Great Smokey Mountains, Glacier and Rocky Mountain National Parks. A portion of proceeds will benefit the American Hiking Society.
