Dawna Stone

Dawna is the founder, president and publisher of Women's Running magazine. An Ironman finisher, she enjoys all sports but says her favorite is running after her 1-year-old Kaelie. Dawna frequently travels to speak to men and women across the nation about health and well-being. Dawna had an interesting career before founding Women's Running. At 33 she was the Chief Marketing Officer for a $700-million publicly traded company, directing the marketing activities for over 68 locations nationwide. Dawna's other experience includes:

  • Senior Vice President of the Active Sports Network, then a 200-person dot com company that is still thriving today with over 300 employees
  • President and General Manager of a $20-million sports nutrition company
  • Strategy Consultant for Deloitte Consulting where she advised senior level executives at Fortune 500 companies
  • Financial Analyst for Wall Street investment bank Morgan Stanley

Dawna earned her MBA at The Anderson School at UCLA and her B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jessica Sebor

Jessica Sebor is the editor-in-chief of Women's Running magazine. A lifelong bookworm, Jessica started running in high school when she realized that years of poring through the library books had not lent her the coordination necessary to practice other team sports. Luckily, she fell madly in love. Jessica continued running through her career as an editor and writer for a number of publishing houses and periodicals, including Interview Magazine, Random House and Ultrarunning Magazine. She has run through mountains in Peru, frigid Czech winters and Times Square at rush hourbut she's never been anywhere more inspiring than Women's Running magazine. As editor, she hopes to share her excitement for the sport with women everywhere.

Melissa Mellert

Melissa Mellert is the art director for Women’s Running. She graduated from the Ringling School of Art and Design for Graphic Design and has worked for magazines including Visit Florida, Senses Arts and Culture and SRQ Magazine. Originally from upstate New York, she loves the warm Sarasota weather and beaches. Aside from being a big animal lover and longtime vegetarian she stays healthy and active playing soccer and running.

Ellen Heise Madden

Ellen Heise is the VP of operations at Women's Running Magazine and the Lady Speed Stick® Women's Half Marathon. Although she is a Tampa native, Ellen has done her fair share of traveling including frequent trips to Colorado and even a stint living and studying overseas in Australia. She loves sea life and says if she weren't working at Women's Running, she would be rescuing whale sharks for a living.

Michele Stone

Michele Stone is the director of marketing at Women's Running. Michele is a strong proponent of getting kids active and healthy, and she can be spotted almost daily at the soccer field, basketball court, or baseball field cheering on her daughter, Taylor and her son, Tyson.

Kelly Baker

Kelly Baker is the race operations manager for the Lady Speed Stick® Women’s Half Marathon Race Series. She enjoys traveling to races all over the country and meeting WHM participants. At home in Florida, Kelly shares her passion for outdoor activities with family and friends. Snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, riding ATV’s, and cheering on her son’s baseball team tops her list of favorites.

Dorcas White

Dorcas White is the national events manager for Women’s Running and she is always on the run – literally! Dorcas travels to events all over the country to promote Women’s Running– she’s at a different race almost every weekend. And she runs them all, too! Dorcas fell in love with the sport in 6th grade and has completed more races than even she can count, including three Boston Marathons. She’ll be heading back to Boston for a 4th time in 2010 and is also planning a trip to Greece for the Athens Classic Marathon. Run, girl!

Erika Stanley

Erika Stanley is the marketing manager for Women's Running Magazine. Since graduating from the University of South Florida, Erika has put almost 100,000 miles on her PT Cruiser in just a few short years - travelling from east coast to west, living and teaching in the desert, and then returning back to the St. Petersburg, FL area once she realized that Arizona was just too far from the beach. Originally from Savannah, GA, Erika has fallen in love with St. Petersburg because of the bike paths, dog parks, beaches, and of course, the running trails.

Shannon Donlan

Shannon is the marketing & social media coordinator for the Lady Speed Stick® Women's Half Marathon Series. A graduate of Indiana University, Shannon recently made her way down south to the Sunshine State. Though she misses the Midwest, especially the glorious fall weather, she is excited to be in a state where she can run outside year-round! Shannon loves University of Notre Dame football, her green Jeep (named "Monte") and all outdoor activities.
